The parishes of Sacred Heart and St. Columba with St. Patrick, deeply regret to announce the sudden death of our parish priest, Father Bernard Woods.
May Father Bernard rest in the peace of the Lord, whom he loved and served.

Sacred Heart Church
Welcome to our recently re-developed website. We hope you find it useful, informative, up-to-date, and easy to use.
We are still working to complete our website, to serve the needs of all three communities that make up our three linked and merged parishes, which are spread over a wide and diverse area of the Borough of Barrow-in-Furness. Between us we constitute the parishes of South Barrow-in-Furness, in the Deanery of St Mary-in-Furness in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Lancaster (Registered Charity no: 234331).

We hope that this site will become a safe place on the internet where parishioners will help to develop the pages and content so that we can communicate and share information to:
- Capture and record our parish history – so that we can all learn from it
- Publish information about current events – so that as many people as possible can be involved in them
- Share our hopes and dreams – so that we can develop our community of faith into a place where the love of Christ can be seen at work and can be shared with our neighbours, for the Glory of God

Please bear with us while our small team continues to develop or revise the content of some of the pages. We expect it to take most of 2012 to complete our task.
